Punish the wicked, but stay in the dark.

Three men sentenced to death are spared and changed into “shadows executioners”, a group of ruthless ninja working for mysterious high ranking officials. During their investigation on some illegal business, one of them, called “Yazuke the Viper”, finds his abandoned daughter, Ocho, who has now become a mistress of Denzo, a smuggler. After Yazuke’s death, Ocho is also recruited as a “shadows executioner”, with the task of completing her father’s mission.

​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.   Hideo Gosha (February 26, 1929—August 30, 1992) was a Japanese film director. Among his most famous films are Goyokin and Hitokiri, released in 1969, and The Wolves, released in 1971. His most famous film in the West is Sword of the Beast, released by Criterion. Gosha's films are some of the darkest films from the samurai genre. He won the 1984 Japan Academy Prize for Director of the Year for The Geisha.
