His documentaries cover social and cultural issues, like the struggle of indigenous communities against the mining and oil companies in films such as Tóxico, Texaco, Tóxico (2007) and A cielo Abierto, Derechos Minados (2009). Likewise, he has made portraits of characters such as Oswaldo Guayasamín and Raúl Castro in Luar Trocas (1987) and of Jorge Enrique Adoum in the film Jorgenrique (2010).
