Padmini who is separated from her husband gets attached to a young orphan girl named Gigi whom she met in a hospital after surviving a fatal bus accident. Due to Gigi's mental health issues, Padmini brings her to Dr. Padmanabhan who after initial apprehension accepts Gigi in his institute for children with special needs. The rest of the film is about what happens to Gigi when Padmini's ex-husband Sethu tries to reconcile with her.
