Renzo Carbonera

Renzo Carbonera (born in 1980) lives between the Bavaria and Friuli/Veneto regions. He graduated with a thesis on British director Ken Loach at the University of Padova. He then took an Audiovisuals Master Degree with seminars by renowned professionals like Roberto Perpignani, Vincenzo Cerami and Vittorio Storaro. All his 9 documentaries have been distributed and broadcasted worldwide. His collaborations include Mediaset, RAI, Fox International Channels, TVE, RTSI, ERT, ORF, SVT and other broadcasters from major European Countries. His projects have been funded by the EU Media and Interreg Programmes, by the FVG Film Commission, Trentino Film Commission, BLS/South Tyrol and Veneto Film Commission. The production companies he works with include Jolefilm, SD Cinematografica, Venice Film, Eikon Media (Germany) and Cerebral Films (USA). Renzo directed and wrote many history documentaries, but also the docu-fiction "Stop and Listen", on the best male polyphonic choir in the world, produced by Ticofilm with RAI, YLE (Finland), Musica Mundi (Germany), Poorhouse International (UK). Furthermore he directed two fiction short films. The first with Italian movie star Sergio Rubini, Cosimo Cinieri and Italian-German TV star Christiane Filangieri. This short film premiered at the Venice Film Festival/Mostra del Cinema di Venezia in September 2011 and was awarded internationally (Raindance, New Delhi OSIAN’S CINEFAN, I’ve seen Films Festival, Naoussa, Clermont-Ferrand). The second short casts Anita Kravos (“La Grande Bellezza”) and will premiere at major festivals in 2014. Renzo has been selected for two Media script and production workshops (EEFA and MFI), to develop his first feature length movie.
