“…[an attempt] to provide new ways of visualizing and conceptualizing spaces people are familiar with. The familiar, by definition, is internalized. By making the familiar estranged, it is possible to re-evaluate it. Two of the main strategies I employ in my work to make the familiar estranged are obscurantism and decontextualization.”
