The quest carries him through a bleak world of absurdity: a land patrolled by a gang of pseudo-religious punk vigilantes constantly 'cleansing' citizens inside the confession booth attached to their "truck-church"; through subterranean Goth taverns with grisly showgirls and coke inhalation competitions; across flamboyant transvestite drug lords employing canine bag-men to run deals.
