In the outback of Siberia - in the village of Takuchet - Justas Walker, a born US citizen, lives and works. Here he has his own successful farm of 11 goats, a couple of sheep and several chickens. Russian neighbors dislike him and plot against him, but Justas looks at life with humor even in the most difficult moment. He has two friends, assistants, two Siberian men with a criminal past - Andrey and Vova. All together they are trying to prove with their work that there is still life in the Siberian village.

The film’s characters — a locksmith and a fisherman, a steelworker and a farmer, a furniture maker and an anesthesiologist — are followed by the film’s Director, who suddenly turns from an observer into a creator.

In the Belarusian village of Zarechcha, music is played almost daily. It is performed by Zoya and Valera: he is a multi-instrumentalist, she is a poet. Each of them went through more than one hard turn of fate before they were joined by a song.

The Last Waltz

This film is about Oleg Karavaichuk, eccentric musical genius and famous St. Petersburg composer, who takes his final stroll through Komarovo, a bay-side summer community just outside St. Petersburg where he spent his whole life and wrote most of his works. His final piece, “The Komarovo Waltz”, unveiled here for the very first time, was written as a tribute to the place. The film is the reclusive composer’s eulogy to the community. It also serves as Karavoichuk’s farewell to audience as well as his last address and reminder of things that are truly important – love for your fellow man and virgin nature.
