Anthony Assad

Anthony is a Palestinian-Irish writer-director who debuted in the arts as an actor and performer within the Ballybough Rising Star Youth Troupe, the National Performing Arts School and Dublin Youth Theatre. He gained his Higher National Diploma in Film Production from Coláiste Dhúlaigh as valedictorian of his graduating class. Thereafter, he completed a BA (Hons.) in Film and TV Production from the National Film School at IADT, majoring in drama direction. Since graduating he has continued to develop and produce short form content, non-fiction and narrative alike, with the intention of seeking out new and exciting stories that champion ordinary everyday heroes. To date his screenplays have made shortlists for funding in Dublin, Cork and Offaly and have reached finalist status in European, British, American and Australian film festivals.
