The eight winners of the preliminary round will advance to the main competition, where ghost story legend Junji Inagawa awaits them. In the main competition, in addition to the eight qualifiers, two more seeds will participate: a finalist round to determine the four semi-finalists from the 10 ghost storytellers, a semi-finalist round to determine the two finalists, and the winner of the final two ghost storytellers will be crowned the 2018 "Kaiou" Ghost Storyteller of the Year.
