Despite his attempts to strike a friendship with the driver, he fails, and his questions create an uncomfortable ambiance in the truck.. Slowly, a frightening danger starts to loom over the boy and there seems to be no escape possible.

The story develops through Kaaliyan who is the close confidant of Iravikutty Pillai, chief of army of King Ravi varma of Venad. This film is also an effort to unearth Kaaliyan, Kunjirakottu kaali a genuine warrior, who was sidelined due to Iravikutty pillai's popularity. Kunjirakottu kaali who fought with vigor and valor for sustaining the pride of Venad attained the name Kaaliyan.
