Souleymane’s Story

As he pedals through the streets of Paris to deliver meals, Souleymane repeats his story. In two days, he has to go through his asylum application interview, the key to obtaining papers, but Souleymane is not ready.

Salem

14-year-old Grasshoppers gang member Djibril leads a dangerous existence in a Marseille slum, along with his pregnant girlfriend Camilla who belongs to a rival gang, the Crickets. When Djibril is manipulated into killing the young Cricket Mahad, war breaks out. Djibril is haunted by the curse Mahad spat out as he lay dying, and begins to communicate with the spirit world. Convinced that global apocalypse is imminent, he embarks on a crazy plan to flee with Camilla and their unborn child – the only one capable of saving them all from Mahad’s malediction. But the law catches up with him. Now, after 12 years in prison and a secure psychiatric unit, Djibril will do whatever it takes to find his daughter and convince her to fulfil his prophecy.

What is striking when you talk with mathematicians is that sparkle in their eyes, and their sudden joyful voice trying to share with you a concept, a theory. They continuously use words such as invention, beauty, freedom. You then ask yourself : how such a rich language, this quasi-philosophical proposition about the world becomes rejected by a majority, 'the only discipline where one prides itself to be bad at it'!

Shadows in the House

Paulo Gustavo, 15 years, spends his days to the Social centre of the evangelistic Church. His mother, Gisele, has alcoholism problems. She has to go to the Centre where she meets Valeria, the social worker charged of submitted of a report with the authorities to validate or not the guard of the children by their mother. Valéria is also mother of two children. She is an evangelistic Pasteur and pushes the family to integrate her Church. Gustavo tells to everybody that he's in love with “Taina”, who nobody knows.

Twenty Show: The Film

Twenty Show was the first "user generated film", edited from fictional and real video-blogs. A unique experience initiated on the Internet, a mockumentary that paints a generational portrait of young French people in their twenties.

L’enfer de Matignon

In a series of long interviews, 12 prime ministers talk about their experience in the upper echelons of power. The function of prime minister, torn between the president and the parliament, appointed without necessarily being elected but responsible for everything, is at the center of debate. With the exception of Jacques Chirac (1974-1976 and 1986-1988), deliberately left out because of his image as French President, those who governed France for the past 35 years agreed to discuss the exercise of power, as seen through archive footage, but also how they experienced it personally. Filmed in the same studio and sitting in the same chair, 12 French prime ministers talk freely about their time in office, from their appointment until their resignation.

On the Spot

Back on the parisian riots of march 2006. By crossing the points of view between the individual, the crowd, the mass, this film tries to draw from the TV coverage some more nuanced, more troubled perception. "Milling around" projects us in the center of the action by keeping us strangly remote at the same time.
