Woman’s Affairs
Tong Siu-wah is jobless. Tong shares a room with Chi-on. His neighbour Lai-ping is a factory worker. Another neighbour Siu-kuen is Manager Chin's mistress-to-be. Siu-wah never bumps into them. Siu-kuen is forced to be a mistress to pay back her family debts. Chin is about to marry Siu-kuen as his mistress. Lai-ping and Siu-kuen are friends and Lai-ping wants to help her. Lai-ping and Siu-wah have never met and they argue. Lai-ping separates their rooms, Siu-wah's glass frame was accidentally shattered by Lai-ping. Lai-ping meets her penpal and find out that Siu-wah him. They teach each other to trick their flatmates. Lai-ping puts a fake snake in his room. Siu-wah puts pins on her bed. The two eventually realized who each other is. Lai-ping helps Siu-kuen pay off her debt and not marry Manager Chin. Chi-on discovers that his boss' husband is Siu-kuen's husband-to-be. Chi-on reveals the truth to Mrs. Chin. Chin cancels the marriage. Lai-ping and Siu-wah become a couple.Year:

Shadow of a Doubt
Sit Muk-fu covets the beauty of the maidservant Ku Kar-lin. Ku concocts a scheme with her husband Wong Hoi to swindle money out of the lascivious man and has to flee into hiding with Sit being stabbed to death during their secret liaison. Detector Lui Hak investigates into the murder at Ku's house and arrests the husband who has a sharp knife in his possession. Bearing witness to the murder, their daughter Bo-bo fights to prove her father's innocence. Upon receiving a score of mysterious phone calls revealing Ku's whereabouts, Lui lures the woman out with Bo-bo as bait, subduing and detaining the suspect. The detective fathoms the mystery of the murder case which leads him to another suspect, But Kei. But has been extorting money from Sit and forces his daughter, the sole heir to his inheritance, into marriage in return for concealing his murder-for-money scheme. But submits to arrest without resistance while Ku and husband walk free, acquitted of the charges.Year:

The Random Harvest
On his way to Lin'an, Lee Tsi-wan survives an attempt on his life by an employee but loses his memory. Maid Siu Yuet-mui of the Sek family comes to the help of the distressed. Lady Sek marries Siu to Lee to vanquish her husband's licentious interest in the maid. The loving couple raises a daughter Siu-fa. A few years later, Wan is hit on the head away at work and regains his memory. The homesick traveller returns to his native home, leaving behind Siu and daughter. The mother and daughter look for the missing man but he hasn't the faintest idea who they are. Apprehended by the incident, Siu plunges into depression. One day, Lee passes by the stone house where the couple used to live in and recalls past episodes of his marriage. The family is happily reunited.Year:

Much Ado About Nothing
Entrepreneur Silly Wong returns from overseas having made a fortune there. His godson Tsim Tsui-mau and wife Ho Bit-siu, and friend George Cheung use every trick in the book, even hiring the alluring singer Lin Yung-so, to entertain and curry favour with the loaded returnee. Unfortunately Wong's saving, totalling 10 million dollars, is only due to arrive in two weeks. Penniless, he remains evasive over financial matters. Tsim thinks that Wong is a swindler and leaves in a fit of anger. Lin gives him a hand in his moment of need, and love blossoms between them. Mau and others believe that Lin must have gathered evidence of Wong's wealth and thus forcibly take him home. Realising Tsim's snobbishness, Wong admits to a fuming Tsim that he a broke man. Finally the money arrives. Wong cherishes Lin's love and marries her, but shows the door to the remorseful Tsim and friends.Year:

The Stubborn Generations

Silk Factory Girl
The film commences with Ching (Tang Bik-wan) lamenting over her bleak life through singing: her mother died early and her stepmother (Lam Mui-mui) is wicked. The song precedes her appearance in the house while the cinematography helps to tug at the emotional heartstrings. Because of her debt-ridden father, Ching is forced by the stepmother to marry an old invalid. To prevent the marriage, Ching's lover Ho (Chan Kam-tong) raises money by agreeing to marry his own cousin (Fung Wong Nui). Ching's life is doomed, yet, when the stepmother absconds with the money. With all her hopes dashed to the ground, Ching decides to opt out of marriage for life. However, witnessing her 'self-combed' sworn sisters being bullied even to the point of committing suicide further devastates her. This tragic heroine comes to life through Tang's masterful performance both as a singer and an actor. The climatic and tear-jerking scene of Ching dying is definitely a highlight of the film.Year:
