But John is neither and Spike, Julia's boyfriend, is a track star at a nearby College. John does not want to enter the track meet so Julia tries to use psychology on him. That and a good wrestling hold makes John timidly agree to enter the race, but Spike still scares him.

The Siren

After being unfaithful to "The Stranger", who committed a murder on her account, Cherry Millard, known as "The Siren", leaves to work in a dance hall in the Western town of Nugget. When Burt Hall arrives in town to deliver a will to the heirs of Bruce McClade, he is captivated by Cherry, who learns of Burt's mission. Discovering that the will dictates that Dr. Langdon, a friend of the family, is to receive $25,000, Cherry decides to impersonate Langdon's daughter Rose and thus gain possession of the money. In the meantime, The Stranger, who has been freed from jail, returns, recognizes Cherry as The Siren and kills her. This frees Burt from her evil spell, and The Stranger, now insane, follows The Siren's spirit into the desert.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Jealousy

Adams) overhears the conversation and not only does he ruin the young man in the stock market, he also tosses Ann out of the house. The film ends bitterly for all concerned.

Conscience

Inventor George Grant and his partner, financier John Benson, accept an offer of $200,000 for the rights to an invention. After Grant breaks up a fight in a bar between drunken Dave Wilson and an old man reprimanding him, Dave is told by his mother to apologize to Grant. He meets Benson, who witnessed the fight, outside Grant's apartment and tells him his purpose, but during Dave's conversation with Grant, Grant suddenly drops dead. The police find Dave hiding, and after a pistol is found outside and Benson tells them about the fight but says he knew nothing about Dave's apology, Dave is convicted of murder and electrocuted.
