The arrival of a travelling fair to Villasemilla following a ten-year absence is no chance event. The fair was cursed when Fortuna, the daughter of Elvira, a clairvoyant, was kidnapped by the magician Fellini. Fortuna must now be found in order for the spell to be broken.Fortuna, a sweet girl who has inherited her mothers gift for seeing into the future, escapes from the orphanage where she has been confined and returns to her home town. Charlie and his fairground workers will show her the way to Carnivaland, a magical world that is crumbling fast which Fortuna must enter into if she is to save her mother. But Fellini is determined to stand in her way.With the help of her new family, Fortuna will face up to Fellinis dangerous dark powers in the knowledge that, after all this time, this is the last barrier separating her from her mother. And blood ties can never be broken.
