An anthology of 7 Mexican short films, all created by 5 up-and-coming independent filmmakers, with a common thread: to explore themes of human relationships. In order, A Hand Beneath the Snow (Una mano bajo la nieve), Friendship (Amistad), The View from Up Above (La vista desde arriba), The Short Film (El cortometraje), Silvestre (Silvestre), Cocktails For Two (Cóctel para dos) and When I Hear You Sing, I Forget (Cuando te escucho cantar, olvido).

Extinction of the Species

Esther, an 18 year-old from the North of Mexico, wakes up in Mexico City overwhelmed and alone. She completes her morning rituals and leaves her apartment to look for work. Wandering the city streets, she attempts to connect with strangers she meets, including a young delivery man who she follows discreetly to the house of a mysterious woman. There, Esther finds a kindred spirit and a companion for the end of the world.

Fabian, a fisherman from the beaches of northern Mexico, spends his days working on a boat under the sun, but his life takes a turn when terrible news arrive.

The worldwide elder population is growing fast and put aside. José, an alcoholic retiree, tries to feel useful; Víctor, a peculiar doctor, follows the presidential candidate in search for justice; and Braulio, a kind grandfather, mourns his wife's sudden death. The film explores the other face of Mexican masculinity that, in loneliness, stop executing their societal imposed role as providers. It is an introspective journey into remorse, loneliness and death.

I Named You in Silence

The Rastreadoras de El Fuerte are a group of mothers of disappeared persons in northern Sinaloa who, in the absence of the authorities, twice a week go out with picks and shovels in search of the remains of their children; a testimony of the abandonment of the State, the aggressions of the drug traffickers, the indifference of society and the pain, but also of the strength and courage that keep these women together, and of their empowerment to mobilize society in community organization.

Artemio's Loneliness Vol. 1

Artemio embarks on regular nocturnal escapades to a porn theater and clandestine gay spots downtown. Along the way, he describes his voyeuristic experiences. Sex, city lights and daydreaming. This is his life. Until he meets Octavio.

At the so-called Quinceañera Lola is allowed to dress up, the pink princess dress and the golden shoes are already ready. But first she has to help her uncle out one evening as a waitress.

In 2016 the Mexican District Attorney secretly buried more than 100 murdered bodies during the war against drug trafficking. They kept it hidden until a group of women, mothers, discovered it while searching for their missing children. One of them retrieves the body of her brother. "To See You Again" narrates the participation of Mexican women as they exhume what remains of the corpses and learn about forensic work. They help us discover the crimes committed by the state when burying the bodies.
