The film is a story of the ways in which insurance investigator Roland Copping interferes in and manipulates the lives of others with outrageous games and gimmicks. Eventually he becomes involved in an escalating vendetta with a couple who make an unusual insurance claim.

The Last Crop

Ann (Kerry Walker) cleans for a living. She confronts problems like a vacuum cleaner sucks up dirt from the carpet. She shares everything she has with her two moody children (Noah Taylor, Sarah Hooper) and her equally erratic neighbours. She also shares everything her rich and constantly out-of-town employers have. While Ann vacuums her clients’ penthouses, her friends enjoy the million dollar views, luxury appointments, home gyms, cocktails by the pool - the things they have always wanted, but could never in their wildest dreams afford.

What the Moon Saw

Steven Wilson is sent to Melbourne from the outback to spend his holidays with his Grandmother, an old time Tivoli showgirl/dancer. He becomes drawn into the world of the theatre, where the illusion is everything and grease-paint covers up reality. While watching a pantomime of Sinbad, Steven succumbs to the magic of the story and actually becomes the sailor on his greatest adventure ever.

Heaven Tonight

The film covers the conflict between a father and his son both being musicians. The father is the leader of a band making rock-music from the 60s but his son becomes a star of techno-pop music.

An out-of-luck youth gets a lift from a shoplifter whose car he had planned to steal. They become involved in crime and romance together.

Teens of Kangaloola High are visited by a skull-faced Aboriginal apparition in their nightmares, and one by one they meet a violent end.

Backlash

Two policemen track down and arrest an Aboriginal woman who has been accused of murder, and begin the trek back across the desert with her.
