Harun suffers from his dreams, causing him mental anguish. This is the result of his experiences as a warrior in the civil war. He seeks a cure for his illness, uses traditional and religious methods, goes to an elderly woman to get a tattoo on his hand. If he loses blood from the tattoo, he thinks he will be fine that way. She had an only son who was killed in the war. This would be the beginning of a new story in the lives of Aaron and Mary. They embark on a journey to find the body of Mary's son, who was killed in the war. Mary's son was supposed to get married before going to war. When they find his body, they take him back to their village and celebrate his wedding and funeral in one ceremony.

Melody

Melody teaches music at a centre for cancerous children. The thirty children are having a party at the end of autumn and ask Melody to compose a piece using the sounds of thirty different birds. She goes to her home village to record the birdsong and is helped by the mute caretaker of the family home, Mango. When they find just 20 birds, Mango makes Melody understand that only the old village singer knows where the other birds are, but bird hunters have forced him out of the village. Melody sets out to find both - him and the missing birds.

A group of young people are trying to teach Kurdish in Turkish Kurdistan, a land where the teaching of the language is forbidden by Turkish authorities. One of the girls in the group, Aseke, is killed on a mission and her friends decide to carry out the final request she made in her will. She had been brought up with a black horse, now in the remote Anatolian mountains, and her request is to bring the horse back so that they might meet one last time before she is buried. The arrival of the horse leads to some unexpected events.
