Hold Still

Hold Still follows two timelines. The first takes place in the present, from 2018, when shooting began, to 2022, when the Dargeçit case ended in acquittal. The second one dates back to October 29, 1995, when eight people disappeared in custody in the Dargeçit district of Mardin, and to 2013, 2014 and 2016, when the bones and clothes of the disappeared people were found in different wells in the region.

A Tale of Three Sisters

A stagnant and gloomy village in the 1980s. Reyhan, Nurhan, and Havva, three sisters were sent to town as 'besleme' (foster child and maid). Since they fail their foster parents for different reasons, they are sent back to their father's house in their poor village. Deprived of their dreams of a better life, they try to hold on to each other.

Heads and Tails

Heads and Tails chronicles the curious hair trade between Turkey and Israel. Two Turkish-Israeli women, Coya and Sima, get the tails of hair from male hair traders in Turkey and sell them to wig makers in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Bnei Brak. Orthodox Jewish women cover their heads with the wigs made of the hair that once belonged to women in Anatolia. In this journey, the hair is turned into a commodity, a means of living and source of beauty, becomes kosher, while the one who carefully grows the hair becomes rather invisible.

Frenzy

With Istanbul mired in political violence, Kadir is offered release after 15 years in prison if he’ll work as an informant. In a shantytown he stumbles upon his brother Ahmet, working for the city rounding up stray dogs and shutting himself in his home.

Beyond the Hill

In the quiet foothills of Turkey, Faik lives an isolated existence. When his second son brings his boys for a visit, Faik takes the opportunity to pontificate about the law of the land, as he sees it. He shares one unsolicited thought after the next, most particularly focusing on the elusive nomads whom he suspects have been trespassing on his property. The day and night wear on, and each member of the clan takes his turn entrusting the film's audience with his own dark secret.

For the Record: The World Tribunal on Iraq

A document of the momentous culmination of a series of world tribunals held in 30 cities around the world, providing testimonials of the war crimes committed by the US and it’s allies in the war in Iraq. This culminating session was held in Istanbul in 2006.
