A Guerra dos Rocha

Clumsy old lady Dina Rocha lives with her son Marcelo. After a series of incidents at home, she moves to her house in Santa Teresa. She meets her friend Nonô and she pays a visit to her old friend. Her sons do not know where she is and they go to the hospitals and morgues. Coincidently there is the body of an old lady smashed by a truck and they believe that she is their mother. Meanwhile two smalltime thieves break in Nonô's house and keep the two old ladies locked in the bathroom. During the funeral of Dina Rocha, the dysfunctional families have a quarrel disputing their heritage.

Bus 174

Documentary depicts what happened in Rio de Janeiro on June 12th 2000, when bus 174 was taken by an armed young man, threatening to shoot all the passengers. Transmitted live on all Brazilian TV networks, this shocking and tragic-ending event became one of violence's most shocking portraits, and one of the scariest examples of police incompetence and abuse in recent years.

Uma Pequena Mensagem do Brasil ou (A Saga de Castanha e Caju Contra o Encouraçado Titanic)

The six-minute film is shot in just two locations: an old movie theater in the city of Miguel Pereira (RJ) and a multiplex in the New York City Center, in the Rio de Janeiro neighborhood of Barra da Tijuca. In front of the old movie theater, the embolistas Castanha and Caju (actually Cajuzinho, the replacement for the original Caju, who died in June 2001) unravel an extremely biting and funny "embolada", which spares no Hollywood idols: from Stallone to Leonardo DiCaprio.

O Sonho de Rose: 10 Anos Depois

Socorro was sentenced to more than twenty-one years in a prison for women in Salvador, Bahia, while Franz is a tormented artist that lost his family and lived his childhood in a ghetto in Poland but survived the Holocaust. Franz moved to Brazil and recovered life wish living close to nature and inspires Socorro to dream with life again.
