Everything, Everywhere, All the Time

Everything, Everywhere, All the Time opens with the sound of musicians performing an old Icelandic folk song, Grýlukvæði. Only, a couple of years ago, they didn’t know each other - now they're touring Europe together. In 2006, Icelandic producer Valgeir Sigurðsson founded the Bedroom Community record label with Nico Muhly and Ben Frost, soon adding Sam Amidon to the intimate roster. After three years of concerts, collaborations and acclaimed album releases, the then four artists of Bedroom Community headed out together for a trek across Europe: The Whale Watching Tour. More than just a series of concerts, the tour was an extension of the ongoing musical exchange between these diverse artists, having them contributing to each other's music on stage. The film follows the four artists on tour, but also provides insight into the colorful characters and explores the vision behind Bedroom Community as well as introducing the home of the label, the Greenhouse studios.

The Ground Beneath Our Feet

Grund is the oldest still operating nursing home in Iceland, nearly 100 years old, where Yrsa Roca Fannberg has worked as an auxiliary nurse for many years. The protagonists of the film know her as someone who helps them with their daily needs. The narrative of the film is those everyday moments that Yrsa has witnessed and experienced, the beauty and grief of life at Grund. We see the relatives, the staff and the residents, their interactions in mundane activities such as helping with daily needs, having coffee, conversations and in more fragile and sorrowful moments, including the moment when they die. Show me the beauty and the grief of the old people at Grund! From the Earth we come and to Her we shall return.

Bogancloch

Bogancloch is where Jake Williams lives, nestled in a vast highland forest of Scotland. The film portrays his life throughout the seasons, with other people occasionally crossing into his otherwise solitary life. At the heart a song, an argument between life and death, each stating their case to rule over the world. The film is without exposition, it aims at something less recognisable, a different existence of reality observed in discrete moments. A sequel to Two Years at Sea (2011), charting a subtly changing life in a radically changing world.

Broken Dreamland

They were children when they left, dreaming of a life without worry: freedom and wealth. But what awaited them was a nightmare. One of them began to change, leading him to commit a lethal knife attack in Turku, Finland. By following the lives of two of the attacker’s friends, the film delves into the experiences of an entire generation of young Moroccan men who feel like they do not belong anywhere. While their families push them to travel to Europe to find a better life, Europe casts them out.
