In Darkness

A dramatization of one man's rescue of Jewish refugees in the Nazi-occupied Polish city of Lvov. In Darkness tells the true story of Leopold Soha who risks his own life to save a dozen people from certain death. Initially only interested in his own good, the thief and burglar hides Jewish refugees for 14 months in the sewers of the Nazi-occupied town of Lvov (formerly Poland).

Made in Poland

Bogus Kowalski is such a radical 17-year-old rebel that he even decides to have a "Fuck Off" tattoo on his forehead. His anger and frustration cannot be diminished by anyone, including his mother, Polish teacher and priest.

Tulpan

Brat

A young judo fighter struggles to keep his family together after his father is sent to prison. 14-year-old David could one day become a judo champion - if it wasn't for his explosive temper and aggression, which he finds hard to control. And this is the only legacy he received from his violent father, currently serving time in prison. David tries to live up to his mother's expectations while taking care of his 9- year-old brother. He gets a chance to change his life when he is invited to an important judo tournament.

The Edelweiss Pirates

Cologne towards the end of the Second World War. The city is in ruins, everyone is afraid, many are dead. It is a time of great inhumanity. Cologne’s young Edelweiss Pirates refuse to submit to the pressure of the Nazi regime. They fight with the Hitler Youth and scrawl anti-war propaganda on walls. Karl is an Edelweiss Pirate; his younger brother, Peter, is in the Hitler Youth movement. The two young men have been alone ever since their mother’s death in a bombing raid; their father is serving at the front, and their older brother, Otto, has been killed in action. Otto’s financée, Cilly, is doing her best to survive the war with her children. Carl is trying to help her.

Conversation with a Cupboard Man

Charles sits for hours in a wardrobe in a rented room on the attic, looking back on his whole life. He was brought up by a single mother who loved his only child with a sick desperate feeling and limited all his world to her own person. Charles' tragedy began with his adolescence. It made his mother aware of her feminity that resulted in her new marriage. Together with a new husband she decided to send the boy to a school for retarded children. Upon leaving the school Charles starts to seek his longing mother who moved out, in a meanwhile, not giving any address.

Chronicle of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising According to Marek Edelman

In this documentary Marek Edelman, a member of the Jewish Labor Bund and leading participant in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, gives a daily account of events from April 19 through May 10, 1942. Edelman’s amazingly thorough, vivid and distinct memories are augmented by Dylewska’s mesmerizing, poetic use of slow motion and freeze-frame techniques applied to documentary material including Nazi footage of Jews about to be deported to Treblinka.
