Jack & Pete Tell It All

Jack & Pete Tell it All is a documentary about how creativity, family, faith, and risk took a small cave in the Ozarks from a regional anomaly to one of America's largest family owned entertainment companies, known today as Herschend Enterprises. Shot on location at both Dollywood and Silver Dollar City in the fall and spring of 2016 and 2017, the film follows the stories as told by the brothers Jack and Pete Herschend; their wives, Sherry and JoDee; and the many others who were there in the early days of the company's inception. It's a celebration of the American spirit, Ozark ingenuity, love and humble beginnings...and serves as an inspiration even today.

Discussion Questions is a text based powerpoint presentation that becomes a cathartic dance party. Commissioned for the 2014 Whitney Biennial, this film will be viewed as part of a screening series with many other films. It purports to be a series of discussion questions for these films. However it slowly drifts off topic and morphs into its own film as the unreliable narrator works through his delusional romantic issues with a coworker at the university where he works.

A Proposal for a PowerPoint Presentation on Philip Guston's painting Evidence

This is a commissioned project for San Francisco MOMA's Open Space website. Herschend was asked to choose a work from their permanent collection and create a reaction. He chose to create a proposal for a potential PowerPoint on the Philip Guston's painting "Evidence."

Self Portrait as a PowerPoint Proposal for an Amusement Park Ride

Written and directed by Jonn Herschend, Self Portrait as a PowerPoint Presentation for an Amusement Park Ride is a corporate PowerPoint proposal for a new roller coaster based entirely on an illicit inter-office affair between the presenter and Linda Cole. It includes ideas for a 'Make Your Own Sandwich Shop' and a secret password for having sex in the supply closet. The proposal, which is created entirely in PowerPoint, takes the viewer through the very basic planning stages for the ride but then transitions to actually becoming the ride itself.
