Ukrainian Independence

The film’s events take place on a single day: August 24, 2022, the day Ukraine celebrates the 31st anniversary of the renewal of independent statehood. The film combines places and people that best capture the country’s wartime spirit. The locations are: the relatively safe cities of Kyiv and Lviv; the cities under daily missile fire of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv; a trench at the frontlines near Donetsk; and the beaches of Odesa. The film presents a day in the life of a beach police patrol, a woman anti-tank missile operator, a water delivery driver, a mortar unit soldier, a rapid assault unit soldier, a 14-year-old pub janitor, an artist and a former member of parliament. Together, these people and places create an engaging mosaic of a day in the life of Ukraine.

Old Summer

Krystyna is 72 years old, but she has never known true love. In order to change something, she signs up with a matrimonial agency. Newcomming dates bring nothing than disappointments. Meeting elderly men let her realize, relationship may not be a lack in her life.

Swarm

A secluded island somewhere on a seas of the Northern Europe. A family of four has lived here for over ten years, perfecting the art of survival. They had moved onto an island to escape a falling civilization, to live in freedom, close to nature. But, things can’t be solved by simply escaping the world, and problems arise when the Mother becomes pregnant again. Moreover, Winter is coming. It seems the only solution is in leaving the island, but this meets with stern dissent from the Father, who sees the place as the only safe haven on earth. Will the others find the courage to stand up to the Father? Can their family survive what comes next?

Goose

When Ewa’s family is preparing for the holidays, some unsettling things start to happen. At first, the mother and daughter, who don’t necessarily see eye to eye, blame each other, but it soon turns out that the author of erotic writings appearing here and there is not a family member.

Butterfly's Dream

The author of the film observes seven-year-old Zuzia's struggle for life from up-close. The girl suffers from an extremely rare genetic skin condition. Her skin, as sensitive as a butterfly's wing, falls apart under the gentlest touch. The only possibility to alleviate the girl's suffering is an expensive surgery in the USA, which entails high risk. The camera captures her parents in poignant moments of despair and their glimmers of hope when they are trying to survive this emotional rollercoaster. What is the most impressive in this film is Zuzia herself, who is aware of her situation in a very mature way.

Plan B

A film about love, full of emotions, humor and life truth. We get to know our heroes before the Valentine's, when something completely unexpected happens in their lives - something that turns them upside down. Situations with which they confront lead to surprising solutions. Natalia, Mirek, Klara and Agnieszka meet on their way people (and animals!), Which give hope that difficult beginnings sometimes lead to finding true feelings and authentic bonds, and in life there is always a plan B.

On the Road

During a ride a woman picks up a hitchhiker. From the very beginning the man doesn't come across as trustworthy and the woman, anxious and feeling the growing threat, decides to pick up one more person. In the confined space of the car the three strangers begin a tense game. The characters hide some secrets that, revealed in small steps, will lead to tragic events.

Katyn

On September 1st, 1939, Nazi Germany invades Poland, unleashing World War II. On September 17th, the Soviet Red Army crosses the border. The Polish army, unable to fight on two fronts, is defeated. Thousands of Polish men, both military and government officials, are captured by the invaders. Their fate will only be known several years later.

Extras

To instil a gloomy atmosphere, a Chinese film crew decides to shoot a heartbreaking drama in a Polish village and invite the locals to act in their production.

Ode to Joy

Three stories of young disillusioned Poles of different background and region of origin. What binds them together is that they all meet on the bus to London shortly after Poland's entry into EU.

St. Barbara's Day

A coal mine director invites Jacob, a TV series star, to add splendor to the celebration of St. Barbara's Day, the patroness of miners. Basia, a worker from the sorting department, is chosen to hand Jakub the welcoming loaf of bread. The two completely different worlds come together: flashy, success oriented strangers from Warsaw and traditional, modest and unwilling to change Silesians.

Queen of Clouds

Piotr manages to buy a splendid though dilapidated villa from the eccentric 80-year-old painter Mimi. The woman treats him like her long-lost only son whereas Piotr tries to send her away to old people's home.

White Dress

Careerist Maciej gives a lift to a hitchhiker with opposite beliefs as they both head to their hometowns. In the meantime, the local community gets prepared for the annual Corpus Christi procession.

Bigda is Coming!

The film tells about the period of Polish history in the 20s of the last century, when the fragile government of the country fell, and a man of the people came to the fore. In fact, he turned out to be a cunning populist and an immoral politician, ready for any tricks for the sake of his goals.
