The orphan Mariken lives in a secluded forest with an eccentric old hermit. One day, she decides to leave her surroundings and sets off for town to buy a new goat. On her adventurous journey into the 'real' world, she finds out about the good and bad sides of people.

Tip Top

Television adaptation of the theater performance of the same name by the Dutch Ruut Weissman and George Groot. The Dutch cabaret artists Jenny Arean, Frits Lambrechts, Lucretia van der Vloot and Kasper van Kooten revive the vanished Jewish entertainment in Amsterdam. Recorded in the Tip Top theater café of the Academie van de Kleinkunst in Amsterdam, which is on the same spot where the Tip Top Theater used to be.
