Who's in Charge?

Based on the sequence of events which led to the deaths of two young trackmen, concluding with an enquiry into the reasons why they were killed. Intended for railway staff responsible for track maintenance, particularly those in supervisory grades.

Omnibus 150

Film charting the development of the London bus from 1829 to 1979, with the 150th anniversary of Shilibeer's first service, featuring a procession of many of the Museum's historic vehicles. Collected in BFI's "London on the Move."

Covers safety procedures in track maintenance work. Intended primarily for track maintenance staff and use on induction courses.

Using Tops

All freight movements over Britain's rail network are monitored and controlled by an advanced computer-based system known as TOPS (Total Operations Processing System). The film follows the progress of a wagon load of equipment from Truro to the Midlands and shows how TOPS makes it possible to accommodate a last minute change of plan.

The Nine Road

The Nine Road is the busman's name for one of London's oldest and most used bus routes, running between Mortlake and Liverpool Street. The film takes us along the route on a summer's day, and shows the operation and control of the Number Nines from early morning until past midnight. Collected in BFI's "London on the Move."
