The Baron's Mazurka

A fig tree located in the lands of a baron of the lower Po valley has for many centuries been the subject of worship. The baron, crippled and an atheist, one day sees a girl lying on the fig tree in a benevolent attitude and exchanges for the Saint Who was martyred there in the Middle Ages. The Bloodstained Lawn

A couple of wandering hippies meet a man by the name of Antonio who takes them to the home where he lives with his sister and brother-in-law. There they meet several strange characters: a gypsy woman, a prostitute and a disturbing drunk. The host tells them that he is a producer of wines and loves to entertain strange people. In fact he is a madman who has created a mechanism that can suck blood from human bodies.

Anna plays the personal secretary of a rich industrialist who falls in love with her boss' daughter's leftist boyfriend, Carlo. Anna pretty much severs her ties with her boss (who she also had romantic moments with) and after she moves in with the college student Carlo she attempts to provide for both, but soon fails in finding job opportunities and sinks into the sleazy world of drugs and prostitution. Carlo's right wing brother demands Carlo begins his relationship with daughter of the powerful businessman in order to guarantee financial freedom for the rest of his life.

Franco, Ciccio and the Cheerful Widows

A 3-episode film starring popular comedians Franchi and Ingrassia. In the first episode, Carlo and Oreste are married to the same woman; when she delivers twins, they fight for paternity. In the second episode, Celestina needs a heir to receive her dead husband's fortune. In the third episode, young widow Daisy arrives in Italy to meet her deceased much-older husband's family and ends up marrying his great-grandson.

The Subversives

The film combines actual footage of Communist leader Palmiero Togliatti's funeral with the intermingled stories of four people affected by his death: Ettore, a Venezuelan radical who abandons the wealthy Italian woman he loves to go back to his country and help his cause; Ludovico, an ailing filmmaker who finds out that art alone is not enough; Giulia, a woman who embarks upon a lesbian affair with a former mistress of her husband; and Ermanno, a philosophy graduate who breaks up with his past.
