Fausto & Furio

Fausto and Furio are two Romans with a precarious lifestyle. Fausto squanders his winnings while Furio lives thanks to small jobs. The death of their parents will make them meet because they inherit a repair shop. After some hesitation, the two, helped by an engineer with a mysterious past, will take the business over, but they will have to face a mafia boss who wants 200,000 euros, a debt matured by their fathers. The two will try to find a solution through clandestine races, drug trafficking, truck hijackings and the shared love for a fascinating bartender.

Follow the Shadows

The young Carabiniere Gatta is sent to barracks in the Naples area. It's 1946 and the war is still hanging in the air even if the small community doesn't seem to have been affected that much by it. Even so, certain suspicions take root in the brigadier's mind. The hotel in the town was the setting for unexplained deaths and crimes that had been covered up. Gatta decides to investigate. Fragments begin to emerge, killers and their victims take shape and speak to each other from different times. There's the hotel owner, a grief-striken mother, a weak son and long-suffering sister, an orphan and two woman who were violently killed. Pain, indifference and shame cast a shadow over everything.

First Light of Dawn

Lucio Gaudino directs this family drama about a pair of brothers grudgingly reunited after their parents are killed by Mafia extortionists. After learning of the murders, affluent yuppie Edo leaves his abode in northern Italy to visit his family's home in Sicily. There he and his resentful brother, wheelchair-bound Saro, argue, reminisce, and debate the pros and cons of living in a beautiful coastal area where Mafia executions are common.

Francesco Maselli pitched this documentary to the CGIL, CISL, and UIL trade unions as part of the 1.5 million-strong protest march on November 12, 1994 against Silvio Berlusconi's projects on social security and the reform of the pension system. A large number of directors, cinematographers, camera operators and technicians from all over the country worked for free in 22 different crews, chronicling one of largest political gatherings ever held in Italy.
