However, soon a mask becomes his true self, and he becomes a true soldier and patriot.

The story of a naughty child, Rimo, whose father then put him in a soccer club. In this club, Rimo dated Indah, but it turned out that he had to deal with Indah's boyfriend who did not accept it. A fight ensued. Rimo's mother was shocked, the only way to save her mother was surgery. Rimo then looked for money by donating his kidney. The problem was solved, his mother was safe and Rimo was dating Indah.

Since childhood, Nanin’s parents taught her to be a pious woman and show devotion to her husband. But Nanin has difficulties in expressing it, although her marriage with Hendrawan has been blessed with two children. As a husband, Hendrawan neglects his wife’s feelings. Hendrawan, who lives in Jakarta, starts to cheat with another woman, Eva. Eva even tells Nanin, in Bandung, about her marriage plan with Hendrawan. When Nanin’s inner turmoil reaches its peak, she meets Salman, a student of ITB (Institute of Technology, Bandung). Nanin and Salman share similar views towards life, which make them really close. Hendrawan finds out about this relationship and he is jealous. At the same time, Nanin files for divorce. Hendrawan’s mother tries to prevent the separation while her husband blames Nanin for not being able to take care of him. Nanin doesn’t care anymore. After Salman gets his engineering degree, their friendship gets closer and divorce is inevitable.

In addition, Rauf fails to win the love of Bulan, the girl of his dream as her mother considers that he has no future. When he goes to Singapore, he meets Kartika, the guitar player and daughter of Dr. Ibrahim Mahmud M.A., an Indonesian dictionary researcher. Kartika happens to be a friend of Rauf’s cousin, Ria, and they have just returned from Tokyo and stopped in Singapore to visit Ria’s parent who is a diplomat. Kartika, who is spoiled by her father, is attracted to Rauf and they fall in love. Kartika’s father does not like Rauf as the latter once dubbed him as a lice-seeking grandpa. Dr. Mahmud then becomes sympathetic after he reads Rauf’s latest novel given to him by Kartika.

The Independence Pioneers

The arrest of Haji Jalaluddin during his sermon leaves a strong impression on the hearts of Hamid and Halimah, his followers. Halimah is a wife who is taken for granted by her husband who is pro-Dutch. Hamid is the son of a rich merchant who falls into poverty after being branded as a rebel. His mother takes him to Padang to be raised by the family of Haji Jakfar, who has a daughter, Zainab. Hamid then studies at Padang Panjang and meets old friends, Fakhrudin and Zainudin. Hamid and Fakhrudin have more similar views with their teacher, while Zainudin is more radical. The latter organises a rebellion and fails. The Dutch keeps arresting people. Hamid, disappointed by Zainab’s marriage to someone else, sails to Mecca. Halimah is left to organise the fight for freedom but in the end, is also captured by the Dutch. The film’s message is that a physical fight for freedom, without being based on religious morality, will become meaningless.
