Alain Souchon - One Day, One Fate

Alain Souchon has never been able to be as it should be and that has long saddened him. His failures in the baccalaureate and in the competitions to become a steward or postman opened up another path for him. Inspired by the music of Laurent Voulzy, he used the words that floated in his head and became the poet of life. This mixture of sweet melancholy and humor, his imagination and his sense of observation, this strong bond with the public have given him, in fifty years of career, a special place in the French musical landscape. It is his story and his repertoire filled with hits that his relatives, friends and musicians reveal here, including his sons Pierre and Charles, Laurent Voulzy, Michel Jonasz, Louis Chedid, Thierry Lhermitte, but also Jane Birkin, Vincent Delerm and Edward Baer.

Spanton vs The French Police

On February 1, 2019, after three weeks of trial before the french criminal trial court, two police officers of the French Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI), Antoine Q and Nicolas R, were sentenced to seven years in prison for the rape of Émily S in the premises of the police station 36 Quai des Orfèvres. Neither her dress nor her blood alcohol level, or even her supposedly «sexual» attitude mentioned by the defense managed to minimize the seriousness of the facts: she did not consent to sexual intercourse. This conviction comes in a particular context of collective awareness on sexual violence. It is symptomatic of a change of mentalities. A symbolic, but equally universal story in the post #MeToo era.

Gilles Bertin founded in 1980 the punk band "Camera Silens" whose name is inspired by the isolation cells in which members of the Red Army Fraction were locked up. Years of music, heroin squats, anarchy and theft follow... He is one of the masterminds of the legendary Brinks robbery. It was April 26, 1988. Disguised as gendarmes, an unlikely team of robbers – punks, anarchists and drug addicts – rob the coffers of the Brinks. Balance sheet: 11.7 million francs (1.8 million euros) and not a shot. Most of the criminals were arrested and convicted, except Gilles Bertin who managed to escape. His escape will last nearly thirty years. No one imagines then that he has rebuilt his life a few hundred kilometers away, in a popular suburb of Barcelona.
