Toopy and Binoo The Movie

After an escalation of blunders, Toopy and Dorothy, a comical genie, accidentally make Binoo’s beloved stuffed animal, Patchy-Patch, disappear. The trio immediately set out to find the fabulous land of “The Lost and Found” where Patchy-Patch is surely to be found. Along the way, the group meets twin seagulls looking for their father, and a magnificent Princess who has lost her dance partner. Together, and despite Toopy’s bumbling ways, they will try to find Patchy Patch and their lost loves.

Whitewash

In the harsh, wintry woods of rural Quebec, Bruce (Thomas Haden Church), a down-on-his-luck snowplow operator, accidentally kills a man during a drunken night joyride. He then regains consciousness in a video store, and with some further difficulties, receives a film of his life. Although full of factual inaccuracies, it is an enjoyable examination of his birth, youth, marriage, family and death. Unfortunately, his request for a sequel is denied, and as he advances down the corridor to God, technical difficulties are experienced.

Streetheart

Louise is living in Montreal, unemployed. Her sister Paulette often gives her a hard time. She only gets to see her poetry-quoting married boyfriend Julien once a week. She hangs out a lot at the dance studio in her building... Louise decides to offer an hour of her time to strangers on the street. "An hour of myself", to do whatever they want to do. But one hour precisely, that's it. This leads to many different situations, some funny, some sexy, some sad. Louise talks to someone who later turns out to have been an undercover reporter. The reporter anticipates a bad end for Louise...

Dans le ventre du dragon

The title of this French-Canadian film translates to In the Belly of the Dragon, but don't assume that it's just another kung fu epic. Rather, the film is a likeable mixture of science fiction and humor, centered around the money-making schemes of star David La Haye. Unable to make ends meet with his minimum-wage job, La Haye hires himself out as a guinea pig to genially loopy scientist Marie Tifo. It is the doctor's contention that a person's intelligence can be artificially increased. La Haye proves her right...up to a point, that is. Extremely popular in Canada, Dans le Ventre du Dragon has yet to receive proper distribution in the States.
