A bloody duel between two knights takes place at a medieval court, which becomes the beginning of a cruel war. Soon it turns out that the battlefield was a chessboard, and the participants of the battle are chess figures.

Beautiful ships sail towards each other across the blue ocean. The admiral observes them with a spyglass. Actually, all the things take place in his mind.

Wings

An animated parable directed by Leonard Pulchny was made in a combined technique. Pulchny uses collages, engravings, drawings and he contrasts green and red colour. The style and theme of the film refers to Jan Lenica’s "Maze". According to Erich Fromm’s "Escape from Freedom", the protagonist asks to cut off his wings because he notices the emotions he evokes in society. The film is a metaphor of the political situation in the Polish People’s Republic in 1960.
