Ai Weiwei's Turandot provides not only a rich insight into the creation process, but also offers a glimpse into the heart and brain of China's most famous artistic dissident.

The Cinema Volta is not a historical documentary about the opening of a landmark cinema, but a light, spirited and modern personal search for the spirit of the people involved.

Gris Biblia Pauperum

The Gris Biblia Pauperum project was born out of a desire to highlight the unique and little-known historical-artistic heritage of the church of Sant’Andrea in Gris, in the Municipality of Bicinicco. The church of Sant’Andrea is in fact the only one in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region to have a fully-preserved cycle of medieval Biblia Pauperum frescoes: a bible for the poor, hence the illiterate. Inside the church, the lively paintings immerse us in a sophisticated multi-sensory media device: an ‘immersive environment’ from 500 years ago.

Dolphin Man

As well as providing the subject for Luc Besson’s The Big Blue, Jacques Mayol did more than anyone to establish the sport of free diving to enormous depths without an oxygen supply. Using breathing techniques derived from yoga, he went to 50, 60, and even 100 meters—depths no one had considered to be within the bounds of human possibility. Mayol was a sportsman, a mystic, a vagabond, but above all, a man who believed in testing the limits of experience. This visually stunning tribute shows a man’s quest to be at one with the vastness of the ocean and to have no fear of the abyss within, where lurks serenity, freedom and finally, death.
