Matheus Moura

Matheus Moura (born in December 10, 1997) is a Brazilian Director and Producer. Graduated in Social Communication with a specialization in Cinema and Audiovisual from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais and certified in production from EICTV in Cuba. He participated as a Bammer at BAM - Bogotá Audiovisual Market 2023 with the Colombian feature film LA ROCA NEGRA QUE SIEMPRE ESTUVO AQUÍ. He co-produces the feature film in development O RECADO DO FOGO (Piranha Filmes and Ursana Filmes), which was selected for the 17th Nuevas Miradas and won the Líneas Argumentales award at the Cine Qua Non Lab 2024. He also produces the feature film PASSAPORTE PATAXÓ (Ursana Filmes), selected for FilmAfro Cartagena 2023 (Bolivia Lab Rally Pitch Award), which reached the final stage of the Lab APAN Negras Narrativas 2024, was invited to Ventana Sur 2024, and was selected for the 2nd Foro de Animación Latinoamericana y Caribeña. DITADURA ROXA (2020), his first short film and graduation project, was selected for over 100 national and international festivals. The short was broadcast on public television by Rede Minas and acquired by the streaming platform Cardume Curtas. His second short film, À NOITE TODOS OS GATOS SÃO PARDOS (2024), a Brazil-Cuba co-production, premiered at the 33rd Curta Cinema - Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival and was selected for the 47th Festival Guarnicê de Cinema, the 35th São Paulo International Short Film Festival - Kinoforum, among others. He produced the short film NUNCA PENSEI QUE SERIA ASSIM (Meibe Rodrigues, 2022), which was screened and awarded at major national festivals, such as the 29th Vitória Film Festival, the 46th Guarnicê Film Festival, and the 25th FestCurtas BH. He also produced the short films BABILONIA (Duda Gambogi, 2024), which premiered at the 64th Krakow Film Festival and was selected for the 22nd BOGOSHORTS; MATAR A UN HOMBRE (Orlando Mora Cabrera), selected for the 26th LALEEF and the ÍCARO - Central American International Film Festival; CANCIONES PARA MORIR EN LA HABANA (María Salafranca); and ANBA DLO (Luiza Calagian and Rosa Caldeira), selected for the Short Film Competition at the 75th Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival. As an Executive Producer, he worked on SEM BRAVA (Montívia), funded by the BH Nas Telas 2022 program, which is currently in post-production. As a Production Director, he worked on CELEBRAI (Maick Hannder), produced by Ponta de Anzol Filmes, currently in post-production, as well as MADORNA (Higor Gomes). He is the Production Director for DESEJO É O NOME DO HOMEM QUE EU AMO (Lea Monteiro), a feature film by Girolando Filmes. Currently, as a Producer, he is developing the short films UMA (Antonio Pedroni), selected by the Lei Paulo Gustavo Belo Horizonte, and ORLANDO (Luiza Garcia). As a Director, he is working on the short films DEVOLVA-ME PARA GILBERTO and PROMETEU, both already funded. Recently, he filmed the short BOULEVARD ARRUDAS, which is in post-production and set to premiere in 2026. He is a member of APAN (Associação dos Profissionais do Audiovisual Negro) and a co-founder of the production company Ursana Filmes.
