The Battle for Justice

Synopsis After receiving approval from his superiors, young anti-narcotics policeman Chen Zheng (played by He Shengming) changed his identity and went undercover in a drug manufacturing factory. He cooperated with Jiang Hai (played by Wang Yiquan) outside the factory to plan to uproot the huge drug manufacturing and trafficking gang headed by He Yuanhua (played by Yu Entai). During this period, he was repeatedly tested and threatened by cunning drug lords.

Shards of Moon

From the music of French composer Evgueni Galperine, Chinese filmmaker Bi Gan crafts a story that harkens back to the phantom rides of yore as he constructs a visual poem befitting the propulsive composition. This short film is part of the 2x25 Project of Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Awards. The project commissioned 25 composers to compose a short piece of music, after which 25 filmmakers made short films that are the ultimate symbioses of music and cinematography, fitting completely within the DNA of the festival. The result: 25 exceptional films where the music inspired the form, narrative and texture.

Another Brick On The Wall

With the following motivation: Every brick in the great wall of China was carried up by a man. More than 800,000 men, for more than 20 years. As we follow the reconstruction of a very small part of that old wall, we feel the dimension and Sisyphean effort carried out almost 2000 years ago. At the same time, this small part of the wall portrays the different social classes and transformations of modern China. A society that moves from the collective ideals to the personal capitalist aspirations of individuals.
