Stephanie Tran, a young, queer, Vietnamese filmmaker, approached PFLAG National with an idea for a film to amplify and honor LGBTQ+ AAPI voices. A Place to Call Home features four PFLAG mothers of AAPI descent, sharing their journeys with their LGBTQ+ kids.

Coming of Age: Vol. 3

This short films collection deals with coming of age which describes the process of maturing from youth to adult. The unrest and conflicts that go hand in hand with this difficult time are reflected in a wide variety of topics. Deep intimate situations alternate with deliciously funny moments. The short films are: Like a Brother (2002); Late Bloomer (2004); Little Wings (2007); Connected (2008); The Cousin [El primo] (2008); Ready? OK! (2008).

This third volume of award-winning gay-themed shorts serves up a spectrum of complex emotions -- from coming-of-age angst to secretive shame. Selections include writer-director Anthony Meindl's "Ready? OK!" in which an 11-year-old boy discovers a passion for cheerleading, and Todd Bartoo's "Coffee," in which two friends investigate a rumor that their best friend's ex is gay. Other works include Nick Oceano's "El Primo" and Adam Lipsius's "4º."

Pedro

An intimate biopic of Pedro Zamora, an HIV-positive Cuban-American, who was cast for the MTV reality show, The Real World: San Francisco, in 1994. Due to his experience on the Real World, Pedro became a celebrity and a sympathetic face of the AIDS epidemic for millions of Americans who had never met anyone with HIV/AIDS.
