A lonely farmer from the Tver region, Sergei, is forced to sell part of his possessions due to debts. The buyer turns out to be Alice, a businesswoman from the capital, for whom this is an easy and profitable deal. Unexpectedly, Sergei refuses Alice and asks her to leave. Discouraged by such a "warm" reception, the girl decides to convince Sergei and stays in his house. Charismatic burglar Maksim gets into trouble after owing money to dangerous bandits.
