Some fifty years ago, while looking for new ways to gather intelligence, the CIA launched a secret program on clairvoyance and extrasensory perception. Is it any coincidence that this took place at the same time and in the same place as the birth of the Internet ?

A Girl from Ouessant

At the tip of Brittany, the island of Ouessant—a grassy heathland swept by sea winds—is the last land before America. Given its geographical situation, it is a place that opens wide the doors of imagination. A Girl from Ouessant is an invented and, at the same time very documented, cartography of the island. This methodical statement starts as the diary of Éléonore Saintagnan, the resident artist-filmmaker at the Créac’h semaphore station, an ideal site for observing the surrounding area. Then, the account shifts towards a playful mise en scène, peopled with sailors’ wives, kelp burners, stories of little black sheep or countless shipwrecks… Drawing on the regional archives filmed in black and white dating from a time when the island lived mainly from fishing, the game begins.

Change of Scenery

An 87-year-old man oversees the interior renovations of his luxurious property. Satisfied with his new house, he invites various people to come over to visit. This film is the second part of a trilogy that offers a kaleidoscopic portrait of a highly unusual character.

An eighty-five year old man, isolated in his luxurious house, tells the story of his economic success and the reasons for his exile in Switzerland. The multiple disputes between him and his acquaintances, and his relations to the place he now inhabits shape his narrative, which unfolds in alternating from one day to another, from one place to the other of his residence.
