Emilio is a dull guy with a dull life. He only enjoys doing monologues as an amateur comedian on the stage of the same place where he started some time ago. But, at 40 years old, his dream of making it as a comedian has not come true. Unlike Carla, who is a famous comedian with her own TV show. One night, Emilio paints Carla some mustaches on one of the posters advertising her show. A few nights later, Carla shows up at the place where Emilio is performing.

Francisco is a beggar who lives in the Almudena cemetery. One afternoon, while walking among the graves, he meets Julio, another peculiar beggar who claims to be a poet.

Silvestre Andazola, an actor whose glory seems to have passed, enters his dressing room after another disappointing performance of "King Lear" at the theatre. Someone else appears to be with him in the room.
