On their way to the city of Rovaniemi, Janne and his friends face many challenges, obstacles and temptations. They learn that they need to be daring. There's no room to give into bitterness. The most important thing isn't success, but rather the journey in itself.

Not only is the ensuing story about differences growing closer and the difficulties that have to be overcome, well told. Also the music is exceptionally well made. It is quite unbelievable that this is the first feature of the director.

Next, their 9-year-old half-sister is dumped on their doorstep by her prostitute mother. A karaoke set helps reveal that the little girl is quite a singer, just as a talent contest for children is coming up on national television offering more than enough money to the winner.

Nightborn

A couple’s dream of a perfect child spirals into a nightmare as soon as the baby is born. The mother Saga thinks there’s something seriously wrong with the child, who drains her of all energy and sucks blood from her breasts. While their marriage strains, Saga’s husband Jon tries to pretend he doesn’t see the problems, and Saga lets herself start hating the monster she gave birth to. Maybe the only way out is to become a monster herself.
