Batguano Returns: Roben on the Road

Having spent years on the road trying to escape the ghosts of his past, Roben despairs when a disembodied presence invades his electronic devices: it is Batma, his former partner. As they discuss the possibilities of a relationship mediated by the cloud, Roben will have to confront his origins, which he has been despised for being just a supporting character - and discover if there is anything left beyond Batma's desire for domination.

Birthright

When he learns of his mother’s death, Thomas returns to Brazil with Beni, his partner, and is told he now owns a country house that used to belong to a grandmother he never met. Curious to connect with his family history, they visit the house and Thomas is welcomed by two aunts that treat him like a long-lost child. As Thomas becomes increasingly enchanted with the place, Beni begins to suspect that something lurks beneath the façade of a quiet country life.

The Intrusion

The name of Brazil’s biggest airport, Guarulhos, references the fact that it was built on indigenous territory. In a blend of realistic and stylised scenes, the film follows a member of the ground staff as she seeks her roots beneath the runway.

Abandonment

The couple Laura and Israël have a five-year-old son, Lucas. They live together but seem to have lost interest in one another's thoughts and cares. Their relationship seems headed for the rocks, and the only one who seems to still be looking for something from life is Lucas.

The Angel and I

Based in the poem 'The Angel' by William Blake, the film is about the innocence of the childhood and how to grow up losing it and leaving some dreams back. The film has a magic atmosphere, that way we can dive into Lia's world and share her feelings through the fantastic realism.

After Lunch

A typical Sunday lunch: husbands entertained with football, some mother and kids ongoing discussions, wives a little bit hysterical, till some funny secrets are revealed - one of them, about an erotic dream will change the nature of the conversation between two friends.

A Library Tale

Inside the closet at seamstress Jacira's house, in an old orange coat, lives Teca, a curious little bookworm, and her pet mite, Tuti. When the old seamstress mistakenly takes Teca and Tuti in her coat while returning a book to the city library, Tuti, once again, had caused some trouble. Escaping with Teca's ribbon in its mouth, it disappears through the mazes of the library, setting up a grand adventure. In addition to stop-motion, the short film "A Library Tale" features other animation techniques such as digital 3D and 2D, several scenes in live action with real settings and characters.
