Tauerngold

Gold rush in the Salzburg mountains: After hearing rumours of new gold discoveries, the penniless Jakob Hirzbacher and his son Andris move to a village in the Hohe Tauern in the hope of finding work there. But there is no gold to be found in Gaisbach. The newcomers are met with great hostility by the village population and can only find refuge in a barracks camp in the forest, where like-minded migrant workers wash gold in the rivers. Jakob finds employment with the beautiful Katharina Radacher, whose family used to dominate the gold mining industry in the region. He falls in love with Katharina, who is fighting against ruin and is forced to sell her mining rights by the corrupt mining councillor Hubert von Feileis. When Feileis realises that Jakob is standing in the way of his negotiations with Katharina, he has him chased out of the village in a devious manner.

An 3-hour project conceived by ten directors presenting the famous German legend of Kaspar Hauser, the story of a man who spent his childhood and adolescence raised on a cave by a strange man who kept him there for 18 years. One day, the man decides to take the young man out of the cave and takes him to a city where the under-developed subject will finally learn what it means to be a human being.

Amon Duul II: Plays Phallus Dei

Directed by German filmmaker Rüdiger Nüchtern, this behind-the-scenes rock documentary captures Amon Düül II, as the progressive rockers record their debut album, "Phallus Dei," in a Munich recording studio in 1968. Blending performance footage with a collection of psychedelic nature clips, Nüchtern's meditative film captures the true essence of the legendary krautrock collective. The movie premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
