Coldplay: A Film for the Future

The visual accompaniment to Coldplay’s No 1 album Moon Music, created by over 150 different visual artists from 45 countries. Each artist was given a handful of music snippets from Moon Music and asked to create corresponding visuals. There were no rules or guidelines, and no knowledge of other artists’ creations.

The poor and pregnant maid Karen slaves her days away, taking care of the imprisoned noblewoman Rigmor. Their fragile friendship suddenly presents an opportunity for a better life, when Rigmor mentions a valuable treasure buried in the forest. In hope of freedom, the two women spite their differences and attempt an escape. But can they create an alliance across class, and flee from fate?

In a world where the municipality offers people the possibility to get to know their fate, ROSA shows up at the fate office to get a clarification about her future. Rosa is in her early 30s and enjoys her free and chaotic lifestyle while looking down a bit on those who have “properly” grown up.
