Shortly after the death of his wife, a father of four retreats into bed and into mourning until the house is left to self-manage. The older children think about how to pull him out of this stupor; the eldest begins by mimicking their mother's voice. Soon, the game spirals out of control, just like each of their identities.

At home surrounded by statuary and by his Porto, by the sea and in Spain where he was born, on a stage of light and shadow, in the films of Manoel de Oliveira or in the poems of Ruy Belo.

Pathos Ethos Logos

Nevoeiro

In Portugal, thousands of workers are protesting against ‘hunger wages’. Paulo and Luísa, antifascist resistants, have lived together for several years. They are preparing to secretly or ganize a strike at the stowage. “At 6 at Adelino’s cafe.” In 20 years of militancy, Paul was never late. But, as the day progresses, the contradictions deepen. “Fog” is a free adaptation of “Fog in the City”, short story by Mário Dionísio.

Ramiro

Ramiro is a bookstore owner in Lisbon and a poet in perpetual creative block. He lives, somewhat frustrated, somewhat conformed, between his shop and the tavern, accompanied by his dog, his faithful drinking companions and his neighbors: a pregnant teenager and her grandmother recovering from a stroke. He would gladly continue living this quiet and somewhat anachronistic routine if events worthy of a soap opera did not invade his bubble.

Love Love

Marta and Jorge have been a couple for seven years. All their friends think they are living a perfect romance. Too perfect, perhaps, for the despair of all: Bruno, who is much younger than Marta but madly in love with her; Lígia, who is Bruno's sister and Marta's best friend and would love to see her brother happy; Carlos, Jorge's friend, who maintains a superficial romance with Lígia while secretly in love with Marta; and for Jorge himself, who is afraid this idyllic romance will imprison him and, convinced that his love and his lover's desire to marry will take away his freedom, decides to show her the way into Carlos arms.

Gloria and Grace

Graça is a single mother who works as a massage therapist and lives with her two children: Moreno, 8, and Papoula, 15. One day, in a visit to the doctor, Graça is diagnosed with a brain aneurism that may rupture at any moment. Desperate about who will take care of her kids in the event of her death, she decides to go after her brother, Luiz Carlos, whom she hasn't seen in over 15 years due to a quarrel. When they meet, however, Luiz Carlos has become Gloria, a beautiful and successful trans woman, who now owns a restaurant and brags about being independent. At first, Gloria is unwilling to reconnect with her family; but as she becomes more guilt-stricken, she accepts Graça's invitation to meet her nephews and eventually realizes that maybe, to be complete, she needs to become a mother.

Tony

Jorge, a very shy young man, works as bellboy in a Lisbon hotel and lives in a guesthouse where he is constantly harassed by the owner’s daughter. As he tries to resist her charms, the boy dreams of one thing only: to incarnate the singer Tony de Matos. This obsession leads him to sign up for an unique karaoke contest, where he will finally be able to give life to his longtime hero. And it’s amid a group of strange characters that Jorge will understand that, after all, he is not alone.

Cinerama

Humberto hanged himself. Catarina, Paulo and Victor want the company where Humberto used to work for to take responsibility in his death, leading them to kidnappe the company’s director in an act of despair. Who is Humberto? What company is that? In which paths will he take us, after his death? Cinerama is an edgy, enigmatic, but not distant film that brings up genres of cinema as well as other forms of art like dance, theatre and poetry. The film reflects ways of being in life.

Em Volta

Vicente goes to Egypt to cover some news for his newspaper, but then he decides to take the investigation further, along the Tropic of Cancer, further and further away (in time and space) from home, and his difficult love life. Therefore he revisits the lands explored 500 years before by the seafarers from his own people: Egypt, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, Laos, China... Eventually he must come back.
