Sydney Moseley

Sydney Moseley was born in London to Saul Moseley and Hannah Meadows. For most of his life he was a journalist, working with the Daily Express, New York Times, and his own short-lived newspaper, the Southend Times. In this capacity, Moseley provided first-hand accounts of Lord Kitchener's consulship in Egypt and the Gallipoli campaign of WWI. He wrote several books, chiefly on his travels and acquaintances as a journalist. Perhaps the most famous of these books is his biography of television inventor John Logie Baird, published in 1952. Moseley was a close associate of Baird's, having been Programme Director of the Baird Television Company in the 1930s. He died in Bournemouth in 1961.
