Radical Landscapes

When filmmaker Elettra Fiumi inherited her father Fabrizio Fiumi’s archives, she discovered a man she knew nothing about. Fabrizio, along with the group of radical architects called 9999, imagined architectural innovations and anticipated a future that is still forthcoming. He was also founder of the Florence Film Festival. In coming to know her father, Fiumi unveils a visionary genius we don’t know enough about.

Los Zuluagas

Camilo, 35 years old, son of Colombian guerrillas, returns to his home country after 25 years of exile in Italy. In an attempt to understand his parents' radical choices, he dives into the family archive. Extraordinary amateur films and private writings reveal never-ending conflicts and painful memories. Those of a father, a revolutionary commander, who sacrificed everything in the name of political struggle, but who saw his dream of justice vanish. Observes the mechanisms of construction and assimilation of gender in contemporary Italian society, through a kaleidoscopic mosaic of scenes of daily life: what are the choreographies of bodies, collective rituals, behaviors for each of the genres that condition our identities? Through paintings with a strong visual impact, Normal tells the story of normality making it alien to us, exploring the daily and collective staging of the male and female universe in which we all participate.
