For the past 20 years, every July 20th, on the eve of Belgium's national holiday, thousands of people have been gathering on the Place du Jeu de Balle in Brussels. This is the “Bal National”, a unique celebration halfway between festival, carnival and family reunion. The event brings together people from all walks of life, who together define the contours of a certain “belgitude”. Jeux de Bal takes you right to the heart of this joyous collective experience.

Girls on the Run

Kathy, a rebel and reserved teenager, wants only one thing: to escape from the psychiatric institution where she was locked up. She soon escapes and searches for her father, the only person who can free her from her prison. To make things a little more complicated, her roommates, Nabila and Carole, join Kathy in the escape.

A gang of kids tries to avoid boredom in this meditative, observational and ultimately tragic short film. #BURNING uses beautiful photography and quiet drama to convey the ennui of contemporary youth.

Europe Endless

A day in the European Parliament and surrounding area. This dance film is inspired by the work and lifestyle of the Eurocrats in Brussel’s EU district and features five dancers. The characters dance, run and glide through the empty spaces in an atmosphere beyond time, decontextualized, in an architectural non-site.

Stagman

Amaury Athanam is a stagman who lives a secluded life. He can no longer stand the way he looks and wants to put an end to his depressing existence. Unable to pluck up the courage to commit suicide, he hires a killer. But Amaury then meets Corazon, a charming young woman with the face of a doe with whom he falls in love. Having recovered his taste for life, Amaury no longer wants to die but you cannot summon death only to send it away again.
