April in Autumn

April returns home to Toronto after traveling and working abroad for several years to help her sister, Sara, care for their mother who is facing health problems. Upon April's return, she literally unearths old family secrets that threaten the gentle balance of home. Sara, who is studying the music of french composer Erik Satie, befriends a homeless man Erik who may have a connection to her mother's romantic past, while April equivocates on a marriage proposal from her long distance boyfriend she met on her travels, Oscar. The story culminates on the eve of their mother's birthday dinner, when Oscar arrives unannounced from Argentina and Sara's homeless friend shows up for the celebration.

Johnny Mnemonic

In a dystopian 2021, Johnny is a data trafficker who has an implant that allows him to securely store data too sensitive for regular computer networks. On one delivery run, he accepts a package that not only exceeds the implant's safety limits—and will kill him if the data is not removed in time—but also contains information far more important and valuable than he had ever imagined. On a race against time, he must avoid the assassins sent to kill him and remove the data before it, too, ends his life.

Bye Bye Blues

During World War II, Daisy Cooper returns home to Canada with her children after her British husband, soldier Teddy, is assigned to Singapore. With the help of trombonist Max Gramley, Daisy's amateurish piano and vocal skills improve, and soon she is supporting her family with her performances. Unsure whether Teddy is alive or dead, Daisy is torn between staying faithful and giving in to her growing feelings for Max.

Why Shoot the Teacher?

It's the winter of 1935 and Max Brown is newly arrived in Willowgreen, Saskatchewan - a rural Canadian prairie town - on his first teaching job in a one room schoolhouse. He quickly realizes that this is not a dream situation: the winter is harsher than he's ever experienced, he's living in the basement of the school, the older of his students treat him poorly and his wages are paltry if and when he ever does get paid.
