When COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in 2020, people initially thought the virus would be easy to eradicate, but it mutated in a way that increased infection and became resistant to all vaccines and medicines. Now this terrible, poisonous virus has invaded every corner of downtown Tokyo and is spreading. The Japanese government is resorting to drastic measures to monitor its citizens. People are not allowed to leave their homes, and face fines or imprisonment. The authorities force the population to wear gas masks at home as well. Against this dystopian backdrop, a small group of people have come together to create a return to an ideal world. This film is a touching but fleeting reminder of the small resistance they are putting up.

First Love

The theme of the story is first love. The film depicts a variety of first loves, but the happily ever after begins to take an unsettling turn, and the first love takes a sudden turn in an unexpected direction. The film is a story in which 17 actors were initially chosen, and then cast in roles and written for each actor based on his or her individuality.

Cassette Tape

A small little story about the marriage of an ordinary, extremely common father and daughter, who seems to be everywhere.

Pay Phone

Saki receives a sudden phone call from a pay phone. The call is from her father who lives far away. Eventually, they reunite and exchange their feelings, both in a clumsy way. This is a story about one ordinary night for a pair of ordinary father and daughter.

Hanagatami

Spring, 1941. Sixteen-year-old Toshihiko attends school in the coastal town of Karatsu, where his aunt cares for his ailing cousin. Immersed in the seaside's nature and culture, Toshihiko soon befriends the town's other extraordinary adolescents as they all contend with the war's gravitational pull.
