After the crackdown of the pro-democracy protesters in the 8888 Uprising on 8th August 1988, Tarji's parents were students who joined the protest in Rangoon, left Burma to Thailand through Koh Song Island (Victoria Point) of Ranong Province. They moved and worked in the Southern region of Thailand. The documentary focuses on observation Tarji's life that is about to change from children to the world of adults. The film interviews the life of Tarji and his mother. Follow Tarji to various locations, observing his coming of age.

Vichart Somkaew

Vichart Somkaew was born in 1980, Phatthalung Thailand. He was graduated from Architecture Department, Faculty of Industrial Education, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. In 2004 he was interested in making documentary and made his first documentary completed in 2005. After that he did a feature documentary project with bioscope magazine. In 2007 a feature documentary 'One True Thing' won The Duke Award in the 11th Thai short Film & video Festival , Bangkok Thailand. He worked as a film project curator in 2009 for 'The Sinner's Discourse'. In '8.8.88' (2012), he tells the story of alienation, the feeling of alienation in terms of country (Burma-Thai), nationality (Burmese-Thai), ethnic (Burmese-Mon) and language (Thai-Burmese-Mon). It also observes the human rights in the social classes in order to show the right and the equality in humanity. The film is financially supported by Raks Thai Foundation and European Union.
