He was born in 1960 in Athens, Greece. He took Theoretical Studies of Cinema, TV & Theatre at the J.-W.-Goethe-Universitat Frankfurt / M. Educated as Cameraman at The German Broadcasting Corporation ARD/HR. Studies (Department: Fiction & TV Drama) at the State Academy for Television & Film, Munich, where he later on taught as Assistant Professor at the same department. The Greek Spiro N. Taraviras lives in Germany and is a graduate of the Munich Academy for Television & Film (HFF).
